Confirmation, a special service in the Anglican Church held to receive its members into the church featured with the laying-on of hands by the Bishop of the Diocese on all confirmation candidates for the reception of the Holy Spirit. This marks the point in the Christian journey at which one affirms for themselves the faith into which one is baptised and ones intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is made through prayers and the laying on of hands by the confirming Bishop
This is also seen as the sealing of Christianity created in baptism and bestows full membership in a local congregation.
The service was held last Thursday 24th Agust at the headquarters of Aguda Archdeaconry of Lagos Mainland Diocese, St Bartholomew's Anglican Church and presided over by the Bishop of Lagos Mainland Diocese, The Rt. Revd B.C.A Johnson.
